BWD Multi-Week Recap 7/27/26
Well... maybe this should be called a multi-week update, because life has been moving at full speed.
The days seem to blend together lately. Between baseball, work, family, and everything in between, the calendar has stayed full. I'm certainly not complaining, far from it. In fact, I'm incredibly grateful. But it has reminded me how important it is to be intentional because life doesn't slow down on its own.
Around Home
We wrapped up my youngest son's All-Star baseball season, and what a run it was! His team finished with an incredible 17-0 record. It was so much fun watching those boys compete, encourage one another, and grow throughout the season.
We also rented a large tiller for the tractor and finally got our food plot worked up. We spread lime to start improving the soil, and now we're looking forward to getting everything planted in the coming weeks. There's something satisfying about working the ground and preparing for what's ahead.
After that, we packed up and spent a weekend at Kings Island, making memories together as a family.
One of my favorite trips, though, was a trip to Amish Country with my wife & kids. If you've never been to the Amish Country Theatre, put it on your list - it was absolutely hilarious! We also enjoyed meals at East Main Kitchen in Baltic and, of course, Der Dutchman. Both were outstanding.
This season has also brought some exciting milestones for our kids. Both of my boys earned spots on their travel baseball teams for next year, and my daughter made an American-level volleyball team. Watching them work hard and see those efforts rewarded has been fun.
And tomorrow... my wife and I celebrate 14 years of marriage.
Fourteen years.
I honestly don't know how I got so lucky. She has stood beside me through every high and low, believed in crazy dreams, loved our family so well, and continues to make me a better man. God has blessed me far more than I deserve.
Around Work
Work has been incredibly busy, in the best way.
We're wrapping up one addition, framing another, pouring foundation walls on a custom home, designing several upcoming projects, and meeting with new families who are trusting us to build their homes.
There are certainly long days and plenty of responsibility, but I never want to lose sight of what a blessing it is that people trust our team with some of the biggest investments they'll ever make.
We're blessed beyond measure, and I pray we steward that blessing well.

🙏 Praying For: More presence. Less distraction. Being fully present when I'm present. (still)
🎯 Working On: Putting my phone down when I walk through the front door...
...and yes, I'm still failing miserably at this one.
It's amazing how easily a device can steal moments we'll never get back. I'm determined to keep working at it.
Questions From My Kids This Week
Nothing this week... but I'm confident that's only temporary.
With three kids, it's never long before someone asks a question that completely catches me off guard or makes me stop and think. Those conversations have become some of my favorite parts of being a dad, so I'm sure I'll have a good one to share soon.

Life probably isn't going to slow down.
There will always be another project, another game, another meeting, another notification on your phone.
But your family doesn't need a perfect husband or a perfect dad.
They just need you.
Show up.
Be present.
Love them well.
Closing Prayer
Father, I come to You with a grateful heart.
Thank You for healthy kids, an amazing wife, meaningful work, and the opportunity to serve others every day. As my wife and I celebrate fourteen years of marriage, I'm reminded that every good gift comes from You. Thank You for blessing me with a wife who loves You, loves our family, and continues to stand beside me through every season of life.
Lord, I continue to lift up my brother Waymond as he works on his book. Give him wisdom, clarity, and endurance to finish the work You've placed on his heart.
I also pray for every dad reading this. Strengthen the men who are in the trenches. Help us lead our homes with humility, courage, patience, and love. Teach us to put down our phones, look our families in the eyes, and never miss the moments that matter most.
Thank You for the empty tomb that gives us hope. Help us never lose sight of what truly matters, not success, not accomplishments, but faithfulness to You and love for the people You've entrusted to us.
